Rituals is a brand I've heard a lot about but never actually got round to trying until now. As an outsider, I always saw Rituals as a "spa-esque" brand, an upmarket version of Champneys or Sanctuary by Boots. With a range of scents and a collection of products ranging from scented candles to bath oils, they're a brand aimed at those of us that like to indulge when it comes to body care; those of us that don't see showering as a chore...

So here is what they say about themselves...was I right?

"The idea is simple: happiness can be found in the smallest of things. We transform your everyday routines into moments of indulgence by means of beautiful and luxurious products. Enjoy a warm fragrant bath, a cup of speciality tea or do the dishes with a little more pleasure. For example, our washing liquids are not only very effective, they smell sensational and look more than just pretty in any kitchen. That is what we are all about: enriching the little things in life with a hint of luxury. This true passion can be found in all our products."

Well, I wasn't far off? Was I?

Now onto my purchase. Debenhams didn't have too many of the Rituals products on sale and offers seemed focused on gift sets. However, there were a few of the Foaming Shower Gel Sensation products at half price and with a tight budget, one of these was the obvious choice if I wanted to try out the brand. I went for the Rituals Zensation Foaming Shower Gel Sensation, purely because of the word "Zen" in the title for the range. I absolutely adore going to the spa. The scents alone drag me back for more, so this seemed an obvious choice (Although, Debenhams, maybe it would be worth allowing a tester for one of the products - what if I hadn't liked this scent?! Ooooooh...just something to ponder!)

Now let me tell you, for me, showering is a chore and no sooner am I in than I am out. I just want to get in, wash my hair, body and jump out again. I don't have lengthy showers unless my legs need shaving. But this, this my friends, has changed my attitude completely. It is a game changer. It is an in-shower experience. It smells ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and takes me back to the spa every time I use it. At spas I have visited in the past there is always some form of Japanese blossom steam room, so if you spa goers want an idea of the scent, think back to that! If you're not been to the spa, think of a scent along the lines of Yankee Candle's Midnight Jasmine, only fresher with a hint of cherry. If you haven't experienced any of those scents, just take my word for it; it's beautiful.

It initially pumps out as a gel and then foams up, a little like shaving foam, but it leaves you with a moisturised feeling as opposed to that weird, shiny feeling you're left with after shaving (You know what I mean, right?) It feels luxurious and the scent radiates off you when you leave the shower - something that is difficult to find with some shower gels.

With an RRP of £8.50, I'm not sure I would have purchased this, but at the current sale price of £4.25 it's definitely worth the money. It feels so lovely on the skin and that scent is ah-mazing.

Are there any other Rituals products that I need to try? Are you a fan of Rituals?

Love, Steph xxxx
