EASY BRIGHTS WITH NV COLOUR

NV Colour were kind enough to send me some other goodies when they sent over some of their nail polishes a couple of months back. It's taken a while to get this post written owing to exams and holidays as I didn't want to rush it and wanted to get some photos I was proud of before publishing. I was lucky to be sent their gorgeous eye shadow in Lagoon, along with their chunky lip crayon in Watermelon.
I find that lots of people shy away from brightly colour products, particularly for their eyes, so I wanted to show a look that involved some bright colours in an easy, classic look.
Lots of girls use black or brown shadow to emphasise their outer corner and here I wanted to show that the same can be done using a hint of colour. Using an angled liner brush, I applied Lagoon under my bottom lash line, from my outer corner and fading it into the middle of my eye. I did the same with my top lash line and blended a little. The effect isn't overly obvious and is perfect for making it look like more effort has been added to a simple look. By using a primer such as Urban Decay's Primer Potion, this can last all day and make your eyes look really bright! The NV colour shadows are perfect for building as they are highly pigmented and really compact so you don't have to worry about fall out. Their shade range is also fabulous. You could easily find a colour to suit your eyes, be it blue, pink, purple or anything you fancy. Lagoon is the most gorgeous greeny, teal blue and it has a little bit of shimmer, and although not too prominent it adds a fantastic glow to your look. At £5 a pop, these babies are definitely worth the spend.
The NV Colour Chunky Lip Crayon in Watermelon is a must for lovers of pink. The pigment in this crayon is just divine and the finish is semi-sheer and highly pigmented. Saying that, I've been wearing just a little of this colour and blending it out into a paler colour using my finger, making it more versatile and wearable. It glides on but doesn't use too much at the same time, meaning you don't run out quickly or have to constantly twist for more product. I think that this colour looks brilliant with a simple eye look and it lasts a good few hours (without eating). This too only costs £5 and it's more than worth the price tag.
On my skin I'm wearing the Benefit Big Easy Bigger Than BB Cream with some Rimmel Stay Matte Powder on top. My blush is Rimmel Stay Blushed in Sunkissed Cherry. My brows are rocking Urban Decay's Brow Box and my mascara is my beloved L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes. My nails are the previously reviewed Cancun matte polish from BarryM
What do you think to this look? Have you tried any NV Colour products?

Let me know if you try this look!

Love, Steph xxxx

  1. The lip crayon in Watermelon is a gorgeous shade. Im too much of a wimp to wear bright eyeshadows & always stick to my neutral ones.

    1. It's so lovely! You should ease yourself into brights by doing little things like this. Tanya Burr also used a teal shade on her inner corner in a recent tutorial which looked really pretty! xx
