OOTD - Stepping Into Spring

It's officially March! Nearly a quarter of the way through 2014...How time flies?! This past weekend has seen the weather get a little brighter in the UK so when my family came up to visit I took the opportunity to dress a little more "Spring". It also gave me the perfect excuse to try out my new satchel* from 3bleathergoods.

For this outfit I teamed some monochrome daisy shorts with a textured cream t-shirt. Both feel really simple and easy to style yet the quilted look of the tee makes it feel a little more glam than your usual. The shorts are described as a skort on the New Look website, owing to their baggy fit and belted style. This outfit was so easy to put together and really comfy too. I added a pop of colour when accessorising; wearing this gorgeous bright orange leather satchel from 3bleathergoods and my orange pumps from Dorothy Perkins. My leather jacket is my old-faithful from Miss Selfridge and I'm loving being able to wear it out again after months of huge coats and scarves.

Satchels are so on trend at the moment and the bright colour of this one adds so much to such a simple outfit. It allows for an easy transition into the new season. The satchel itself is made from Moroccan leather and has such an authentic look and scent to it.  It has two inside pockets, neither with zips, just the pull-over clasps to shut it tight. The clasps themselves are magnetic poppers that are easy to open but not so much so that they open as and when they please. I love this trait about the bag as it means that it's not a hassle to open and you don't have to fiddle with undoing the belt-like clasps. Very easy yet it still have that vintage edge. The colour is powerful, bright and as I said before, adds that extra special pop of colour to what would usually be a plain and simple outfit. At just below the size of an A4 page, it won't fit in your uni work but is perfect for fitting in all those shopping necessities, be it you purse, make up bag, phone, wallet, tissues, body spray...the lot. The strap is adjustable but not so much so that you could use it as a shoulder bag. At 5"4 I have it at the shortest length, just to give you an appreciation of length.
This satchel retails at £65 which I believe is a more than fair price. I've been after a satchel like this for a while and whilst not wanting to fork out for the likes of more expensive brands, I would happily invest in one of these. 3bleathergoods has quite the range of leather products, in particular satchels and their colour choice is superb. You are paying for not only a beautiful bag, but the quality of the finished product as well as the craftsmanship that has gone into it.

What I'm wearing:
Leather Jacket - Miss Selfridge - £52
Top - Miss Selfridge - £10 (past season, bought in sale)
Shorts - New Look - £14.99
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins - (price unknown, had them a few years)
Satchel* - 3bleathergoods - £65

Are you loving the satchel trend? How do you transition from Winter to Spring?
