Starting Off: Mascara

I must admit, don't really know anyone that doesn't use mascara! I mean, there are a few people I know that don't wear make up at all, but of those I know that do wear make up, all wear mascara. Mascara is the holy grail of make up. It is a way of adding some definition to your eyelashes and opening up your eyes, making them look wider and more awake.

Every make up brand and their dog has their own mascara and often brands have multiple mascaras to their name. Mascaras can claim to do anything from lengthening to volumising your lashes and almost always a mascara will offer more than one service to your lashes.

I haven't had too many mascara blunders if I'm honest. I didn't used to apply mascara to my bottom lashes so I never suffered with spider eyes and I hate the clumpy lash look so I never put myself through that either! I have, however, tried an endless amount of brands and types of mascaras and at the minute I'm loving every single one in my collection! So here, in no particular order, is my mascara collection!

Babydoll by YSL is my most expensive mascara. At around £25 it kind of breaks the bank - just a little - but it's really nice and feels like I'm giving my lashes a treat when I apply it! It makes them so full and long. It's peeeeerfect.

My fave waterproof mascara is Natural Collection Waterguard. It's only £1.97 and it's still really black and completely waterproof. I love it for holidays or sometimes I apply it on top of normal mascara to make it stay on a little longer.

I got this Oriflame Very Me Extendalash mascara in my goody bag at the Leeds Meet Up and it's currently my most used. It's really natural feeling but still really dark and lengthening.

Collection's Does It All* is a fantastic mascara! It claims to do just about everything it possibly can to your lashes and it just about achieves it! It remind me a lot of my bareMinerals Lash domination mascara as they both promise and achieve similar looks.

Another mascara in my collection is Volume Million Lashes Excess by L'Oreal* This is really volumising and is also really good at defining the individual lashes. It smells a bit like roses too!

I know I haven't included any pictures of what each mascara does to your lashes as it's a bit painful putting on and taking off mascara continuously! I have however included a picture to carry on with my make up routine pics from earlier weeks. This photo shows me with mascara on both eyes, one wearing my cheapest mascara and the other my most expensive. You can tell the difference but I think it's astonishing how good the Natural Collection mascara is to say it's so cheap.

And there we have it, boys and girls! My mascara post! I hope you've enjoyed it! Do let me know if you have any of these mascaras and make sure you recommend some for me to try!

Lots of love, Steph xxxx

    1. Lash Domination is fantastic but it doesn't have such a long wear time as it tends to sweat off onto the brow bone a little! xx

    2. No! I'm lazy and just found it too much day to day. That's all changed now and I'm wearing it daily and realising what all the fuss was about! x

  8. You have a great mascara collection! I tend to buy one and use it up, so I only have maybe two that I actually use in my collection. I love the Benefit They're Real.

  9. Oh, I love how YSL Babydoll mascara looks on you. Would've given it a go if it wasn't so expensive. I've tried L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in the past and it's definitely something I'd buy again.
