bareMinerals Lash Domination

If you've read some of my earlier blog posts you'll realise how much of a bareMinerals fan I am! Their products are fantastic. I love their foundations and cheek colours in particular, but I had never ever tried any of their eye make up, which I find off seeing as I claim to love them so much.

I won this little Lash Domination sample in a twitter giveaway that bareMinerals held a couple of weeks ago. They were giving away 10 samples and all you had to do to win was tweet them with your most lusted after bareMinerals product - easy peasy! I was really happy when I found out that I'd been chosen as a winner and after sending over my address, the sample arrived the next day.

I love mascaras. My eyelashes are really blonde as I'm so pale and fair skinned, so mascara is the first thing I reach for when trying to make myself a little less ghost-like. I have tried tonnes of them as there are so many different brands and types available. I used to stick to drug store brands but more recently I've splashed out on brands like MAC and YSL. I bought Babydoll by YSL a couple of months back now and it is most definitely my go-to if I'm after long, thick lashes. However it isn't as easy to create a natural look on more neutral days with Babydoll, so I was hoping for this quality with my new Lash Domination sample.

The packaging is really glam, it's a chrome tube with a twist-effect lid and all of the writing is in black. It's so pretty and eye-catching, I love it. bareMineals say that it's their 10-in-1 mascara with lots of effects;

I would agree that Lash Domination achieves at least 8 of these without question, there are just a couple I am unsure of. This mascara, without a doubt, lengthens, volumizes and thickens. I have to admit that it does not lengthen as well as Babydoll but compares to some of the more affordable mascaras I have tried it does a really good job. Lashes definitely feel and look lifted and the "pro twist" wand shape makes it really easy to separate and cover ever lash. The twirling wand does look a bit daunting at first, but don't be deceived, this mascara is one of the easiest to apply. It doesn't take many strokes at all to get a full coverage. I have no doubt that the product is mineral fortified - it's made my bareMinerals! And clumping isn't an issue at all. The mascara does last all day but of it's other two properties I am unsure. This product has a tendency to smudge off onto my brow bone almost every time I wear it and by the end of the day I get little flakes just under my eyes.

The little faults I've found this mascara to have definitely don't bother me enough to make me change my opinion of it. It has such a natural feel to it yet it gives a really nice finish, as do all of the bareMinerals products! My eyelashes don't feel all stiff and rigid when I'm wearing this, they just feel light and flimsy, only they have all the extra benefits I described above. I definitely think that bareMinerals need to play on how black this mascara really is. It's SO black and stand out, but it's not fake looking and lashes don't look clumpy or caked. bareMinerals have struck the balance perfectly with this product, I will definitely be purchasing it.

Please ignore the state of my eyebrow!

Have you tried any bareMinerals products? Or their eye make up? I'd love to hear what you think to it!

You can buy it here for £16.00!

Lots of love, Steph xxxx

  2. I really like the look of this, but the flaking off and smudging on your brow bone is the one thing I hate in a mascara :/

  3. I really want to give this a try! I've tried bareMinerals eyeshadow before (I actually used it for my prom) I mixed a pinky colour and a dark grey colour together and it lasted a long time! I even used the darker one as a liner - by wetting the brush a little before applying!:)
