Handbag Essentials

I don't know about you but I'm forever fretting that my make up has run, afraid that I don't smell nice and panicking about my lips getting dry! To solve all these woes I always keep a few products in my handbag to get me through the day and today I thought that I'd share them with you.

A MIRROR: Any will do! Just something to check your make up for any required touch-ups or to check if your lipstick has worn off! I use a Boss Orange one that I got free with my perfume!

A PERFUME: I use my full size Viva La Juicy perfume which isn't such an issue for me as my handbag is huuuuge! However you may want to use a smaller one depending on your handbag size! Just something to spritz on when you're feeling a little scent-less. Any perfume that you like the smell of is obviously perfect for you.

A CREAM: Whether it be a hand cream, lotion or body butter - just something to rub in after hand washing or if you just feel like a middle-of-the-day preen! I use The Body Shop's Coconut Body Butter - just the small tub and it's perfect to rub on my hands after I've washed them. I love the smell of coconut too!

A LIP BALM: Nothing worse than having dry lips and nothing to cure them! Glosses and lipsticks just don't do the trick if your lips are in a really bad way so I think that having a little balm in your bag is definitely a must. I tend to stick with vaseline. I keep the aloe one in my bag and the rose one next to my bed. I can't get enough of them!

A BLUSHER: Just to add a little colour to your cheeks if your make up isn't very long-lasting. I think the Bourjois Little Round Pot blushes are amazing just because they are so little and they have a brush too.

AN EYELINER: Eye make up is the worst when it comes to longevity and eyeliners in particular have a tendency to sort of, drop off! I think it's always key to have one handy in your bag to top up and correct any disasters that occur through the day. I use No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil - a mini review of which can be found here

A CONCEALER: For any blemishes that occur/reappear throughout the day! An obvious one if you ask me. I use my Benefit Bo-ing concealer. Lightweight and compact!

A LIP COLOUR: I often pop the colour I've chosen to wear on the day in my bag if I am going out, but it's a good idea to keep a more neutral colour in your bag for those days when you forget, just to add a bit of colour to your face. At the minute I'm a big fan of Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial.

A POWDER: Pressed or loose - whichever you prefer. Gets rid of any shine and grease that accumulates on your skin as you carry out your daily tasks :) I strongly recommend Rimmel's Stay Matte powder. It does the job perfectly and it is so cheap.

I made up this make up bag using products that aren't my favourite but do their job all the same! It just prevents issues of swapping and changing from handbag to daily make up bag. So if you have duplicates of products this is a good idea for you too :)
