Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

If you've read the "About Me" section above you will see that this foundation is one of my favourites!

I have always been a liquid foundation fan ever since I first started using make up. I am rather pale faced and don't have the most even of skin tones so I use foundation to distract away from all that. I find liquid foundation easier and quicker to use.

I bought this foundation on a whim. There was a 3 for 2 sale on all Rimmel at Superdrug so I just decided I'd make the most of it and try something new. From having used Rimmel when I was younger I realise that their shade "Ivory" suits me best so this is what I went for with this foundation.

The bottle is sleek and I would say it's pretty modern. You can see how much product is in the bottle which is a good thing. I really like the blue lid too, partly because electric blue is one of my favourite colours! The writing on the bottle is a little worn on this photo. But it has been rattling around in my make up bag for a good 8 months so that doesn't bother me at all.

The foundation is dispensed via a standard pump. I must admit, it is a pretty good dispenser as you can control how much you want to come out very easily. I find that with a lot of foundations, you pump it out and get this massive blob. I tend to think less is more when it comes to foundation, I am not a big fan of the "caked in it" look, so this dispenser is a massive bonus for me!

This is what the product looks like when it is pumped out. As you can see there is barely any there because I used the amazing pump woo! It's not too thick so that it's difficult to spread/rub in but not so thing that it takes more than one coat to build up a colour. I would argue that the formula is perfect. I have combination skin. It does cling to dry patches but only if they are really dry. It gives a dewy sort of look which I like as I don't like a foundation to make me look completely matte. I use my fingers to rub it in as I find foundation brushes really gross (comment away and tell me how weird I am aha) and it covers my blemishes and dark circles really well.

I just used my forearm in this picture to show the coverage. To be honest, you can't really see that I am wearing it. I see this as a good thing though, because that's what it looks like on my face! Match perfection alright. It occasionally clings to dry skin (i.e. when I have dry skin) but generally it doesn't cling to any hairs or anything and looks quite natural. It can be made to last longer by using a decent primer and translucent powder on top. It depends what look you're going for really and how long you want the foundation to last. I would definitely recommend using a primer. In my opinion, they just help make up stay on so much, that I couldn't quite believe it when I first tried one. It's SPF 18 too, always a good thing when you're a ginger! ;)

Another big positive of this foundation is that it smells beautiful! Like - so good! A bit floral and it has a fresh scent about it. I think that this is a fantastic foundation. I'd love to know what you think to it! Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 on all Rimmel cosmetics which you can find here, but it is also available at many other high street stockists, including Boots and Wilkinson. I can almost guarantee you'll find a colour that matches your skin tone!

  1. I'm so happy you reviewed this foundation!! I live in the US and Rimmel products are limited. I've really wanted to try the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, but it's not avalible here. So I've been looking for another Rimmel foundation to try. I found this one, but was unsure about it. But now after reading your review, I will definitely be going out to get a bottle of my own!

    1. Aww that's great to hear! Yeah it's so good - I would say it's as good as some of the more high end brand and at half the price it's so worth it! Let me know what you think to it :)
